All eyez on Perfection

The New England Patriots are the best team in the National Football League. They have the best ranked offense and one of the best ranked defenses. The big thrill about this specific season is that to see if the New England Patriots could possibly have a perfect season. Most people included myself have predicted that the New England Patriots will be undefeated during the regular season. However, most people are speculating that could the Patriots possibly have a perfect season meaning to say that they end the regular season 17 -0 and then win the next three game and become Super Bowl champions. No other team has been able to accomplish this since the 1972 Miami Dolphins. The funny thing is that as I watched the interview of the 72 dolphins, they were pleased that another team could possibly match their talents in a single season, but the embarrassing part of the interview was that the Miami Dolphins of this year might go 0-17. It is funny how the Patriots are about to break the Dolphins record, and yet the Dolphin team itself is about to create another record, for no wins in a single season.
No doubt, this season is one of the most amazing seasons I have ever watched. The race to perfection has everyone hooked to their seats. The question becomes, is their any team that could stop the Patriots from completing perfection? In my opinion the only team that could defeat the Patriots is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Even though they were handed an embarrassing loss by the Patriots I believe this feud is yet to be over. The smack talk and boos that the Steelers heard in last Sundays game will come back to haunt the Patriots in the AFC Championship game. I predict the Patriots and the Steelers in the AFC championship game and Steelers will be victorious.

All eyez on the Warriors

The Golden State warriors have to live up to big expectations, after coming off a year as they did. In the last 11 years, last year was the first playoff appearance for the Warriors. Being an eighth seat in the Western Conference, during the first round they beat the Dallas Mavericks 3-1 defeating the number one seat in the league. In the next round we were unfortunately defeated by the Utah Jazz, but yet the memories of last season has lead the Warriors to be playoff caliber this year.
Unfortunately, the Warriors have started off really slow. With the first five games, we are 0-5. Thus, it has been pretty disappointing for most of the Warrior nation. However, regardless of staring 0-5 the bright news for the Warriors is that they were playing their first five games without one of their stars, Steven Jackson. With this arsenal on offense, the Warriors promise to make another playoff run. So, when Stephen Jackson or " jack" returned to the line, that is the first game the Warriors received a W in the win column. Further, on this 5 game road trip the Warriors have gone 3-1. Finishing off their road trip in Philadelphia, if the Warriors are capable to win again, this will once again put them in the playoff hunt. The fans of Golden State have been waiting a long time to see the Warriors in the championship. If the Warriors are able to do it this year, this will only strengthen the bond between the Warriors and the Warriors nation. In a year that both the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders have failed and had miserable years, we can only hope that the Warriors could bring the Bay Area back into the the picture.

All eyez on the Court

Since I was young, my dream was to become a lawyer. I loved MatLock and would watch it everyday. The suspicion and thrill one has during a court case was so exciting to me that I choose it to be my career. In the process of studying for the LSAT and keeping my G.P.A high,I am also doing an internship. I intern at the Superior court of San Jose. I have several locations in which I can gain knowledge of the court system. I fluctuate from one center to another on a weekly basis, which allows me to gain knowledge in every aspect of civil law. I have gained experience in the following: family law, divorce, adoption, eviction, and restraining orders. The self help centers in San Jose are there to help citizens who are in great need of legal advice. Citizens that cannot afford an attorney often come to us for help and advice on filing a case. Working as an intern, I usually help the customers fill out their " intake forms" which are procedural paper work that all plaintiffs need to file before starting a legal case. I usually help them with their declaration of judgement which is basically a statement that the customer has to make in order to sell it to the judge. Judges make their decisions off of these declarations to see if the case is even valid to move further into the hearing and trail portions.
The internship is great. However, it is not a paid internship so it seems like a waste. On the contrary, the experience that I am receiving from this internship is going to further my knowledge in the legal field. I also believe this internship would better my chances of getting into a good law school. However, the most difficultly thing to handle at court is the terrifying stories that are being told to you. When I go to help a customer out, they often have to tell me their story and what happened to them. Especially when customers come into get restraining orders on another person. Mothers tell me about their abusive husbands and sons, while daughters tell me about their abusive boyfriends or dads. Sometimes, the stories become so overwhelming that I have to excuse my self from the customer in order to get a break. Working in the legal profession is not just working to give people advice, but it is also working to help and understand people in extreme need for comfort and support.

All Eyez on Drugz

Today we will talk about drugs. Not what they do to you, but what is the slang terminology on the streets. In essence, you probably have figured out the fact that I just have run out of things to write about. Drugs on the streets are a great source of revenue for criminals and gang members. Cocaine on the streets is known by many alias. People often call it" coc, yola, Yolanda, and White Girl". Cociane is usually distributed in grams or what is called an " 8 ball". "8 ball" is 3.5 grams of cocaine. This is the highest amount of cocaine that dealers usually sell on the streets. Any thing over that, drug dealers are usually afraid to distribute in fear of severe penalties that can be posed on them by the law.
On the street you can also find Ecstasy. It is often called " thizz, pill, or X ". There are several different types of pills that you can buy. They are formed by the amount of M.D.M.A which stands for methylene dioxy meth amphetamine (http://www.csdp.org/publicservice/whatwekn.htm). You can usually buy Ecstasy pills in what they call " stacks". You can purchase a single, double, triple, and quadruple stacks. The higher the level, the more M.D.M.A. However, most Ecstasy pills are mixed with crystal meth, so they are usually dirty pills. However, you can purchase pure Ecstasy pills which are more expensive, but they do not contain any crystal meth, only M.D.M.A. Pill prices average from $2 dollars to $25 dollars, depending on what stack they are.
Finally there is marijuana. Often called " dank, weed, bomb, fire, green, and yes, grass". Weed is the easiest of all the drugs to be purchased on the streets. You can purchase weed in " tensions (.5 grams), dubs (1.0 grams), eights (3.5 grams), quarter's (7.0 grams, half O's 14.0 grams), and Zips (28.0 grams)". It is the most used illegal substance or drug on the street. This is the only drug that many support in legalizing, especially do to the fact that it serves as a medical purpose for patients undergoing chemotherapy.

All Eyez on my predictions

I could find nothing else to talk about for my blog this week. While I was pondering, for some odd reasons I began to make predicitons on the Super Bowl and Basketball champions. The strongest team in the AFC to me is the Raiders. Actually, that was a joke. In my opinion the two teams that will battle for the AFC crown, will be the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots. These two teams are obviously the most gifted and talented franchises currently in the NFL. Both teams have an explosive offense that can light up the score broad. For the past five games, the Patriots have been averaging 34 points a game. Respectively, that means that Tom Brady and the Patriots every game score at least five touchdowns. Other offenses in the league, besides the Colts do not have the talent or firepower to put up these types of numbers. The point of the game is, what ever team scores the most points in the game, that team wins. If you can never outscore your opponent, then it does not matter how good of a defense you have, at the end you will still lose.
I would talk about my predictions for the NFC, but I believe that is irrelevant. No matter what team makes it out of the NFC, the winner of the AFC championship will win the Super Bowl.
My predicitons for the NBA are as following: San Antonio Spurs verses the Boston Celtics. San Antonio, once again will be the defending western conference champions. With Garnett and Shaq on the east, there is no sufficient big man that can handle Tim Duncan. The defense and the coachimg methods that the Spurs have, will once again generate them in the NBA championship. On the east, I believe new comer Kevin Garnett will make a big impact. He will lead the Celtics into the finals as Eastern Conference champions. The winner between the Spurs and the Celtics, that will be hard to determine? Tony Parker, Manu Ginobalii, and Tim Duncan will be head up against Paul Pierce, Ray allen and Kevin Garnett. The series should be great.

EYEZ on Education

Currently I am taking a Sociology class at San Jose State. Education in Society is a very interesting class, as we get to explore questions about education that we never considered to be problematic. Do all students get an equal opportunity in education? The answer that I have considered is , no. Depending on where you live and what school district you are in, determines what level of education you will receive. Better school districts are obviously in the better and richer neighborhoods. In such schools parents pledge money to these schools in large amounts in order for the school to have extra circular activities, such as music and sports. While the parents of the poor school districts cannot afford to pledge money to their schools because of their financial situation. Thus, the poor school districts cannot have extra programs for their students. Richer schools have more utilities and resources that they can give to their students, which helps and enables these students to prosper in the future.
Further, at the college level is the education level the same for every student regardless of what school they go to? The answer is actually yes. All colleges, give or take teach the students the same amount of things regardless of what school you attend. However, prestigious schools like Stanford and UC Berkley can provide something more then education, these schools can give their students status. We as a society legitimatize major institutions like Berkeley because of their name. If a college students graduates from San Jose State compared to UC Berkley, the student from UC Berkley will most likely get the job because of the name of the college he attends. Employers want to be proud and say, yes we employ graduates form Berkeley and Standford, not mediocre schools like San Jose Sate. However, in reality the education that both students received is probably equivalent, but the status and prestige of ones school can be the dominating factor in employment. With considering inequalities of this nature, can we as society really say that are education system is truly fair and equal? After taking this class, it has made me speculate the accuracy of this notion. People say no matter what you do, as along as you have an education you can become successful. However, in my opinion the saying should go like this, no matter what school you got to,the only sure way to know that you will be successful is to go to certain prestigious schools like Stanford and Berkeley.

All Eyez In the Air

The greatest basketball player of all time is the one and only Michael Jordan. Mike as most people call him is probably the best athlete of this century. Winning 6 national championships, 6 MVP of the Finals awards, and 5 time Most Valuable Player in the NBA Jordan has left his mark on the game (http://www.23jordan.com/achievements.htm). During the 1990s the Chicago Bulls won 6 championships. Most people speculate that if Jordan had not retired for two years because of the death of his father, the bulls and Jordan would have had a combined 8 rings. Thus, Jordan and the Bulls were the dynasty of the 1990s.
Jordan's love for the game started when he was young. He would always play against his older brother to get better. When Jordan went to high school his freshman year he tried out for the varsity team. Unfortunately Jordan was cut from that team because his skills were not good enough. Most people would have quit in situations like this, but Jordan was never a quitter. Jordan practiced extra hard and the next year when he was a Sophomore, Jordan once again tried out for the varsity team and this time he made sure that he would make it. After High school Jordan went on to attend North Carolina University. As a tar heel he brought his university one national championship by hitting the game winning shot, which today to most sports analyst is known as " the Shot". After college he became the Chicago Bulls third overall draft pick and you already know what is the story after that.
Jordan is considered to be the single man that changed the game of basketball. Basketball was mostly dominated by big men such as Kareem Abdul Jabar and Larry Bird. Until Jordan there was no guard or small man that could take over a game and lead a team to victory. Jordan however, became that man and transformed the game from big to small. Thus, many athletes today like Kobe and Lebran admire Jordan and have taken own a similar role.
Michael Jordan is not only a basketball player, but he is a role model for all kids around the world. Jordan makes more money off his shoe sales then most people can make during their whole life. Jordan also is sponsored by Nike and Gatorade. Hanes, Jumbo Hot dogs, and Jordan Cologne are just other endorsements that this legend has mingled with. This multi millionaire has left his mark on the game of basketball. The best way to prove this fact is by considering that Jordan is in an elite class of players that actually have their statue out side their teams arena.

all eyez on the ball

Basketball is my favorite sport. I began to play basketball since the age of seven. Since then, my dream was to become a basketball player. Like millions of other kids during that time, my favorite basketball player was Michael Jordan. He was also my role model. I would try to imitate Jordan in every aspect of my life, especially on the court when I was playing. Like Jordan I always wanted to be the star on the team. In essence, wanted to be the go to guy , the man that would take the last shot. I wanted to be idolized the same way as Michael Jordan. Thus, when I use to play basketball at my neighborhood park I would always be nominated caption and instead of choosing the good players, I would always choose the lesser talented kids, in order to become the star on the team. I know that is a little selfish and kind of weird, but I wanted to be the hot shot, I wanted to be the man to hit the game winning shot.
When I started to attend High school I actually went out for my High Schools basketball team. That is the first time I noticed how competitive the sport of basketball really is. There were several people talented as me if not better then me. I barley made the frosh/Soph team my first year in High School. However, as i had viewed the talent I stepped my game up and practiced religious only my jump shot and defense. Thus, the next year around as a sophomore in the tenth grade, I was selected to be on out the varsity basketball team. From there on my career in high school blasted off. That year my high school team made it to the second round of the CCS finals and the following year we actually won our division. My senior year was going great as I was being recruited by some small named college from Southern California. However, a severe ankle injury made me sit out for about 4 weeks which ended my basketball career. So my dream of becoming like mike ended as my high school days ended.

HOw i just forgot

Last week i forgot to write in my blog. I was so disappointed with my self. How could I forgot to do an assignment, especially one that is so easy. If you are wondering why I forgot to do my Blog, you probably are not surprised that it wasn't my fault. My dog ate my computer, I'm serious. No, I was just lying, but i probably did get your attention. However, my dog did ruin my computer on that specific Thursday, the day that I write in my blog. He actually ran into the house on accident because some moron in my family left the back door open. My dog ran in to my house and out of all four rooms that he could of damaged, he choose to ruin my room. He ran into the house and actually spilled a glass of coke on to my CPU which was open because i was fixing the hard drive in my computer. Do to the soda spilling on my computer,my entire CPU modem is now ruined. It wouldn't even start up. Now I am really angry and mad because i have to spend a lot money fixing it and also because i forgot to write in my blog, something that has become so dear and special to me( this is pure BS). However, most people probably would not believe my story because they think I am lying,so ill just stick to the story of how I just forgot to write in my blog.
Believe it or not my dog got his share of the pain also. He is not going to get his morning walks for about a week and i might just starve him to death (just playing). Now in such a circumstance as the one that i have presented, who would you blame for not getting the assignment done. My dog or me. Mostly, all eyes are on me for the blame, but my eyes are on my dog.

All Eyez on the Test

For the past three months, all I have been able to do with my free time is study for the LSAT. The Law School Admissions Test, is a test that is required for any future student who would like to attend law school. In preparation for this test, I have not missed any of my regular classes at San Jose State. That is not because I can handle both studying for the LSAT and go to school at the same time. Instead, what i have been doing for the past two weeks is that, i have been studying for the LSAT while in class. Yes, I have been caught studying for the LSAT in Professor Wood's class and actually in all my other classes. It is not that i find my education at San Jose State so useless that I don't need to pay attention while my professors are lectuuring. Rather, I would have to admit that the LSAT has overwhelmed me with stress. My fear of the LSAT has become so severe that i dream about the question types that are given on the LSAT. See the LSAT consists of four sections: logical games, reading comprehension, formal logic, and a written essay portion. You have 35 minutes for each section and there is a total of five sections. At first it might seem easy, but if you are a person like me with average intelligence, the LSAT can be a very difficult test to take.
Nonetheless, i am taking this test on Saturday and hopefully all my hard work will payoff.
P.S. I was studying all day for the LSAT so i had nothing else to talk about.

Can someone get the Doctor

If there is a Doctor for the Hip Hop industry, that can only be referred,Doctor Dre. As the mastermind behind making beats, Dre has revived the Hip hop industry at times of great need. Whenever the industry was falling, Dre would always come back with a smoking new album that would top the charts. They call him the Doctor because he is a perfectionist with making musical beats for great rappers such as: Snoop Dogg, Easy-E, Tupac, Eminem, 50 cent, and the Game. All these rappers at one point in their careers, owe a special thanks to Dre for giving them beats that became instant hits in the clubs and on the streets. There are many other music producers like Timberland and Swiss Beats, that try to resemble the style that Dre incorporates into his music, but yet they are far from achieving that point. The West coast gangster mentality with a mind of a Doctor has made Dre seem untouchable when it comes to music producers.
Even though Dre has reached the top of the game, his career overall was not as rewarding. Dre had several " beefs" with fellow Rappers throughout his reign. At first, Dre was a huge part of the group called N.W.A. After Dre decided to leave N.W.A , Easy -E and Dre did not remain good friends. Easy and Dre were both from Compton and basically were at war. Both released several tracks on which they would " diss " each other. In the aftermath, Dre went to a rival record label called Death Row and signed with them and the rising new talent Snopp Dogg. However, this battle came to an end when Easy died of aids at the age of 31.
On the other hand, this would not be the only battle that Dre would have to face, his biggest battle would be against the greatest rapper of all time, Tupac Amaru Shakur. After both Tupac and Dre were signed on to Death Row Record, things were going really good as they both were in the super hit California Love off of Tupac's album All Eyez On Me. However, after the " beef" between Tupac and Biggie Smalls became serious and life threatening, Dre decided to leave Death Row to and the Hip Hop game. Tupac found this very offensive and disrespectful. Thus, Tupac began to down play Dre's hegemonic figure in the Hip Hop Indusrty. Once again this beef ended with the tragic death of Tupoac in Las Vegas.
When Dre came back in the year 2000 with his blazing new CD called the Chronic 2000 Dre made references to everyone and all he needed. In his track "Forgot about Dre" Dre mentioned "Who you think brought you the o' G's
Easy-E's Ice Cube's and D.O.C's and Snoop D O double G's
And a group that said mouth*** the police(http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/drdre/forgotaboutdre.html)".
With references like these in his new album, Dre made it clear to everyone that he was one of the best. He mentioned to all that he made most of the stars in the rap industry, and in later years he showed his eye for talent by discovering superstars like Eminem and The Game.

WiTh Attitude

Eric " Easy - E" Wright was the sole man thought brought the west coast on the map. In the years where hip hop was mainly dominated by East Coast artists like KRS One and LL Cool Jay, Easy put Compton on his back and brought about one of the most controversial groups in the history of Hip Hop, N.W.A( Nigg** With Attitude). With other huge rap stars like Dr. Dre and Ice Cube, Eric and his buddies shocked the rap scene with their " Boys in the Hood" mentality. " Boyz n' the Hood soon became the national-anthem of hip hop ( http://home.swipnet.se/~w-10437/bio.htm)".
There were two camps behind this group, as one camp thought that N.W.A was just describing what they saw and shining light on the issues of the ghetto. While the other camp believed that Hip hop had a duty to the public in which they should not glorify violence and drugs (http://home.swipnet.se/~w-10437/bio.htm). Do to these conflicting views N.W.A is remembered as one of the biggest Hip Hop groups, and also made room for the modern "gangsta rap". However, in the years to come, this group that Easy created began to fall apart. At first when Ice Cube left and later when Dr. Dre left, it broke the groups backbone because there was no one who could make the beats. After the break up Easy and Dr. Dre had a conflict and in the remaining albums and songs created by Easy where not done to jump start or give a new view to Hip hop, but rather it was just to " diss" Dr. Dre.
As time went on Easy once again showed his special touch for finding talent as he founded the group Bone Thugs in Harmony. This group later became a multi platnium recording group, but Easy would not be around long enough to enjoy his success. At the age of 31 Easy E the legned of Compton died from Aids. This man was the face of Hip Hop for many years, he built several careers, but yet shattered others. In his dying moments he was only left with his close family, with no friend or foe by his side. Easy E is the true meaning of a boy in the hood.

It Waz All A dream

It was all a dream
I used to read Word Up magazine
Salt'n'Pepa and Heavy D up in the limousine
Hangin' pictures on my wall
Every Saturday Rap Attack, Mr. Magic, Marley Marl
I let my tape rock 'til my tape popped
Smokin' weed and bamboo, sippin' on private stock
Way back, when I had the red and black lumberjack
With the hat to match
Remember Rappin' Duke, duh-ha, duh-ha
You never thought that hip hop would take it this far
[Juicy Lyrics on http://www.lyricsmania.com]

Notorious B.I.G is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time. The rhythm and transition in his music is so electrifying that it made everyone move their feet. Portrayed as the King of Brooklyn, Biggie was loved throughout the United States for his unusual but hyped rap style. At first Biggie and the late Tupac Shakur were best friends, they made several tracks together that topped the charts. However, after Tupac unexpectedly was shot five times in a New York Studio, the two rappers went their separate ways. Tupac claimed that Biggie knew who were his alleged shooters, but he was to afraid to come forth. On the other hand Biggie refuted all of Tupac claims that linked Biggie to the shooting. The conclusion of this was a well known east coast west coast beef that brought Christopher Wallace to be known as the great Notorious B.I.G.

Notorious B.I.G stood for Business Instead of Game and after his death now stands for Books Instead of Guns (http://www.ewsonline.com/biggie/biography.html).
His debt album was Ready to Die and is probably regarded as one of the best hip hop albums of all time. He also would thrived to become the king of the East Coast, the representative in the East Coast West Coast feud that ended up causing the death of both Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur.
After his demise Biggie remains an icon in the Hip Hop Industry. Through people like P. Diddy and Jay Z and other major East Coast rap stars, biggie's music is still alive and heard everyday by hundreds of people. Not only did he live his own dream, but through his music he helped others live their dream.

The one and only

Dead or alive, Tupac Shakur has been one of the most influential rappers in the modern era. His songs reflected real life situations and brought the life of the "Ghetto," to main stream America. Tupac brought to light the injustices that many of our fellow brothers and sisters face everyday. As many Americans live a comfortable life, there are still many people that are suffering. Tupac became a voice for the worst off in society. The people who could not speak for themselves, Tupac became their voice. Their screams which were never heard, apparently became the biggest voice in mainstream America.

At first Tupac brought into light the injustices that young minority youth males face from law enforcement. By having suffered jail time and dealt with cops and other law enforcement through his life, Tupac was a perfect example of a person gone mad do to the injustice's of our criminal justice system. He claimed to be a " Thug." someone who was from the gutter, but by making it through all the obstacles made it to the top. Further showing his animosity towards the criminal justice system, Tupac started his own group called " ThugLIfe," which stood for" The Hate You Give Little Infants Fu*** Everyone"(http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=thug+life). Tupac simply meant by the title of this that, the hatred that law enforcements gives to us , that same hatred is going to be the reason for every ones destruction. So in Tupac terms the reason that he is a Thug is not his choosing or his way of life, but because of the hatred vested upon him by law enforcement made him what he is.
Tupac during his time has realised several albums which have became super hits. His greatest would be consider ALL Eyez On Me which sold over million albums. This double CD put Tupac on the map, and after Makaveli was released not just to let law enforcement know, but also to let his enemies know that no one is safe from the wrath of Tupac. Still, till today many myths are considered about this man, is he dead or alive? Some people feel that he is still alive but the vast majority of American concluded that he probably is dead, but yet his music is still alive and will remain alive for generations to come.
