WiTh Attitude

Eric " Easy - E" Wright was the sole man thought brought the west coast on the map. In the years where hip hop was mainly dominated by East Coast artists like KRS One and LL Cool Jay, Easy put Compton on his back and brought about one of the most controversial groups in the history of Hip Hop, N.W.A( Nigg** With Attitude). With other huge rap stars like Dr. Dre and Ice Cube, Eric and his buddies shocked the rap scene with their " Boys in the Hood" mentality. " Boyz n' the Hood soon became the national-anthem of hip hop ( http://home.swipnet.se/~w-10437/bio.htm)".
There were two camps behind this group, as one camp thought that N.W.A was just describing what they saw and shining light on the issues of the ghetto. While the other camp believed that Hip hop had a duty to the public in which they should not glorify violence and drugs (http://home.swipnet.se/~w-10437/bio.htm). Do to these conflicting views N.W.A is remembered as one of the biggest Hip Hop groups, and also made room for the modern "gangsta rap". However, in the years to come, this group that Easy created began to fall apart. At first when Ice Cube left and later when Dr. Dre left, it broke the groups backbone because there was no one who could make the beats. After the break up Easy and Dr. Dre had a conflict and in the remaining albums and songs created by Easy where not done to jump start or give a new view to Hip hop, but rather it was just to " diss" Dr. Dre.
As time went on Easy once again showed his special touch for finding talent as he founded the group Bone Thugs in Harmony. This group later became a multi platnium recording group, but Easy would not be around long enough to enjoy his success. At the age of 31 Easy E the legned of Compton died from Aids. This man was the face of Hip Hop for many years, he built several careers, but yet shattered others. In his dying moments he was only left with his close family, with no friend or foe by his side. Easy E is the true meaning of a boy in the hood.

Being that your post for this week won't allow me to make comments, I'll post to last week's.

You realize that the first "rapper" was Jimmy Dean, of sausage fame?
